Would you like to reduce your stress levels, sleep better and improve your mental health? Or would you simply like some positive ‘me time’ and a chance to explore another avenue of self-development?

From busy mums and dads to holistic therapists and secret agents – everyone can benefit from simple meditation techniques.

Not sure what it’s about? Or have you tried and feel you failed?  Well, the good news is, you can’t ‘fail’ at meditation, just the effort of ‘trying’ to meditate, is actually meditating.  Some days or sessions will be better than others, but you can’t actually ‘fail’.

It’s not all about sitting cross-legged, chanting and sitting for hours on end, practical meditation can be done on a chair or on a garden bench, quietly, and for as little as 5 minutes depending on your lifestyle.  The key to experiencing the benefits of meditation is to do it regularly.

Meditation is about developing a state of awareness so that you can stay in the moment. This is important for your health and well being. Meditation is a state of consciousness in which a person goes deep within themselves, focusing the mind and eliminating outside influences to produce a state of deep peace and relaxation.

After this deep quietening of the mind, an ability to listen to one’s own thoughts and observe the mind, body and spirit is produced.  Once this is achieved, you can move deeper into expanding the spiritual awareness.

By practising meditation, you will find that you start to come into balance, physically, emotionally and mentally. Meditation is used by many to pursue a holistic or spiritual way of life, but the reality is that it is one of the most practical tools you can use to help you reduce stress.
